  • Medical sociology
  • Sociology of religion
  • Economic sociology
  • Sociology of kinship
  • Social stratification
  • Sociological research methods

The program's objectives include:

To be eligible for an MA in Sociology, applicants typically need a bachelor's degree in sociology from a recognized institute with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. However, some universities, like Indira Gandhi National Open University, may admit students to an MA in Sociology even if they haven't studied sociology in their undergraduate degree. Admission processes vary, with some colleges relying on merit while others require entrance exams.
