Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE)
Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) is the care and education of children from birth to age 8. It's considered a fundamental part of the education system by UNESCO and is important for building a foundation for lifelong learning. ECCE can help children achieve their full potential by laying the foundation for:
- Good health and nutrition
- Learning and educational success
- Social-emotional learning
- Economic productivity throughout life
ECCE includes physical and motor development, language, cognitive, socio-personal, emotional, and creative and aesthetic appreciation. UNESCO believes that ECCE is more than just preparation for primary school and can be the foundation for emotional wellbeing and learning throughout life.
After completing ECCE, candidates can pursue a wide range of work opportunities, such as: Preschool teacher, Kindergarten and elementary school teacher, Nanny, Childcare center director, and Childcare worker.
